More Star Wars, puzzles, planes and hugs

A story of hope for the future….Seventeen years ago Tina Jacobs heard the words that would change her life forever, “you have breast cancer.”  Having lost her mother when she was only 26 years old, and knowing her grandmother died young as well, Tina wasn’t sure she would live to see her children graduate from college. She began treatment and a path to survivorship. As her journey progressed she pursued employment at a Komen Affiliate in South Florida. She was given the honor of being a ‘Warrior’ and survivor ambassador at the South Florida Race for the Cure. News came that Tina was to be a grandmother, and she knew it was time to relocate back to New Jersey. Serendipitously, Komen North Jersey was looking for a Director of Community Health!  Tina went from not knowing if she would live to see her children graduate from college to being the happiest grandmother in New Jersey. Today, when Tina isn’t educating the community about breast health, she is enjoying more Star Wars, puzzles, planes, and hugs with 3-year-old Gavin than she ever thought possible.

Give a gift of hope today so other moms can look forward to the hope of one day being a doting grandmother just like Tina!
