10th Annual Race for the Cure Highlights
Our 10th Annual Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure on May 21st was a huge success! The overwhelming response to our new location at Liberty State Park in Jersey City was “loved it!” (and we even heard a few “best race ever!”). The weather was picture-perfect; we had more than 2,000 people attend; and we raised over $600,000, which is about $100,000 MORE than last year!
This year’s top fundraiser was Nancy Dango, Team Captain of HOPE HAS NO BOUNDARIES, individually raising $11,940.23! Top Teams in each of the four divisions include:
- Friends and Family: HOPE HAS NO BOUNDARIES ($17,427.48)
- Company/Corporate: For My Daughter ($33,491.00)
- Healthcare: Dr. Julie’s Team ($7,870.00)
- School/University: GOA BCA club ($2,185.00)
We were thrilled to have some wonderful guests join us, which helped to make the day extra special. Big thank you’s to Steven Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City; Marcos Vigil, Deputy Mayor of Jersey City; Anthony Johnson, Reporter, WABC-TV Eyewitness News Team; Patty Steele, WCBS-FM 101.1’s “The Big Show with Scott Shannon & Patty Steele;” and Charles Way, former New York Giants Fullback.
