Susan G. Komen North Jersey co-founders Deborah Q. Belfatto, Lisa Herschli and Kathy Hubert-McKenna were recognized at the Affiliate’s recent Pink Tie Party held April 7th at the Westmount Country Club. The event, which celebrated the Affiliate’s 20th Anniversary, also paid tribute to Medical Honoree RWJBarnabas Health and Corporate Honoree Wakefern Food Corp./ShopRite.

Three new Komen North Jersey “Pink Tie Guys” were officially inaugurated: Charles Way, Former New York Giants Fullback and Managing Partner, Purple Bridge Management; Lawrence R. Inserra, Jr., Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Inserra Supermarkets, Inc.; and Kevin Nepveux, Vice President, Global Technology Services, Pfizer, Inc. Long-time volunteer Denise Osborn was honored with the first “Breathe Life Award”, established to honor those who, by virtue of their passion and commitment to the fight against breast cancer, “breathe life” into their work on behalf of the Affiliate. Some 475 guests attended the festivities, which raised $570,000. Thanks to the success of the event, Komen North Jersey will be able to increase its grant funding this year to provide even more breast health/breast cancer services to underserved women and men in the North Jersey region!
